StreamVault is built on a privacy-first philosophy. We believe your personal data is yours and should stay that way. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We minimize data collection by design. The information we collect includes:

• Account information: Username, email address, and hashed password
• Usage data: Watch history, XP earned, badges, and engagement metrics used for gamification features
• Technical data: Browser type, device type, and IP address (stored temporarily for security purposes)

We do not collect your real name, physical address, phone number, or government-issued identification unless required by law.

2. Bitcoin Payments & Privacy

StreamVault uses Bitcoin as its primary payment method. We do not process credit cards or store traditional financial information. Bitcoin transactions are handled on-chain or via the Lightning Network. We store only the transaction ID and payment status needed to verify your subscription. We do not link your Bitcoin wallet address to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain your account and subscription
• To deliver the gamification experience (XP, badges, leaderboard)
• To improve platform performance and fix bugs
• To communicate important service updates
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data only in the following cases:

• Service providers: Trusted infrastructure partners who help us operate the platform (hosting, CDN), bound by strict data processing agreements
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority
• Safety: To protect the rights, safety, and property of StreamVault and its users

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and regular security audits. While no system is perfectly secure, we are committed to protecting your data to the best of our ability.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication (session tokens) and user preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics services that profile your behavior across the web.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for platform analytics.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
